Lady Rebels Flag Football Gets Quarter-Final Victory

    The Lady Rebels traveled to Waldrop Stadium to take on the Homewood Patriots in the quarterfinals Tuesday afternoon. It was a perfect Fall Day for flag football!
    Sophomore quarterback Julia Rose went 20/35 on the evening with one interception. Senior Christiana Belcher and freshman Callie Davis each had 5 receptions, and both scored a touchdown for the Rebels. Belcher also had a beautiful lateral to sophomore Chloe Leahy for a 40 yard run. Senior River Riley rushed for a touchdown and junior Emily Spooner scored twice for the Rebels. Junior Layne Turner scored all 3 extra points. Riley also had a lateral to Spooner that went the distance for a TD.
    Defensively River Riley harassed the quarterback all night and had 1 sack on the evening. Contributing to the defensive stand was junior Emily Spooner who also had a sack on the evening. Senior Holland Warren had 4 flag pulls, four pass deflections, and 1 interception. Senior Emily Cooper and Sophomore Molly Mac Sharp got in on the action with an interception a piece.
            The Lady Rebels won the game 33-13. Next up for the Rebels is the semi-final game and will be played either against Lee High School (Huntsville) or Hewitt-Trussville. Opponent, date, and time TBA. Go Rebels!
