State Championship Bound!

    The Lady Rebels flag football team sealed their spot in the state
championship game Thursday night when they won convincingly against Lee High
School from Huntsville. With a score of 21-0, the team put on an offensive and
defensive show!
    Sophomore quarterback Julia Rose threw 28/40 on the evening, while
making great reads and decisions with the football. Senior Christiana Belcher had
10 receptions on the evening and scored 2 touchdowns. Freshman Callie Davis
had 7 receptions as did Junior Layne Turner. Turner also scored a two-point
conversion for the Rebels. Sophomore Chloe Leahy had 3 receptions and scored
an extra point as well. Senior River Riley ran into the end zone for a rushing
touchdown to seal the win with 21 points.
    Defensively for the Rebels, Riley had 3 sacks and 5 pulls and put the
quarterback under duress all evening. Senior Riley Newsome had 1 sack and 4 flag
pulls. Contributing to the defensive stand was Lindsay Green who came up big
with an interception.
    The Lady Rebels will play Central High School, Phenix City in Tuscaloosa at
Bryant Denny Stadium on December 6 th , at 3:00. Good Luck Rebels!!!
