Senior Night Victory for Flag Football

    The Lady Rebels flag football team hosted Brewbaker Tech out of Montgomery and celebrated senior night with a victory. The offense for the Rebels was clicking and the defense was, as usual, lights out!
    Seniors that were honored were: Christiana Belcher, Madison Blackburn, Elizabeth Ann Cooper, Emily Cooper, Savannah Grayson, Lindsay Green, Maddie Hunsberger, Ari Katigbak, Aubrey Martinez-Covington, Riley Newsome, Scarlett Padgett, Gabi Ramirez, River Riley, Ella Stephens, and Holland Warren.
Senior Riley Newsome started at the quarterback position and led the offense to a touchdown. She threw 6 for 10 on the night.     Senior Christiana Belcher had 6 receptions and 2 beautiful touchdown catches. The last touchdown was a 61 yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Julia Rose who hit Belcher in stride as she outran her defenders to the end zone. Senior River Riley scored a rushing touchdown and threw a pass for an extra point. Riley had an impressive night on the defensive side of the ball as well. Riley had 3 QB sacks for a total loss of 15 yards. Others with an excellent defensive night were, senior Madison Blackburn, freshman Ella Green, and senior Lindsay Green, all with interceptions. Sophomore Chloe Leahy and junior Layne Turner each scored an extra point on the evening.
    The Lady Rebels are Area winners and will play host to Hoover, Oak Mountain, and Spain Park, Wednesday, November 1^st, at Thompson Reynolds Stadium. Rebels will play Hoover in the first match of the evening. The Lady Rebels go into the Area Tournament with 13-0 record.
