A Birmingham native, Sean Goldfarb enters his first season as Associate Head Coach for the Vestavia Hills High School Boys Soccer program, bringing with him a strong reputation for player development, character-driven leadership, and a player-centric approach to coaching. His ability to connect with players, build trust, and foster a culture of accountability and growth has been a hallmark of his coaching style.
Before joining Vestavia, Sean served as the Head Junior Varsity Coach at Oak Mountain High School from 2020 to 2025. During his five-year tenure, he played a key role in developing the core group of players who helped lead Oak Mountain to four consecutive Final Four appearances. Under his leadership, the JV team earned titles at the Over The Mountain Tournament, the Lake City Cup, and the Shelby County Shootout. His players consistently responded to his competitive mindset, steady guidance, and sincere care for their development both on and off the field.
Goldfarb grew up playing for Mountain Brook Soccer Club (now BUSA) and graduated from Indian Springs School in 2004, where he was a four-year starter and earned First Team All-Metro and First Team All-State honors. He continued his playing career at Birmingham-Southern College, where he was part of the program’s transition from NCAA Division I to Division III. While many players chose to leave during the reclassification, Sean and his teammates stayed—an example of his loyalty and strong character. He graduated in 2008 and was named to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll. He went on to earn his law degree from Cumberland School of Law in 2012.
In 2009, Sean was appointed Assistant Coach for the Maccabi USA Junior Boys Soccer Team that competed in the World Maccabi Games in Israel. Locally, he has coached with Homewood Soccer Club, Homewood High School (Boys JV), and Oak Mountain High School, building a strong foundation within the Birmingham soccer community.
Coach Goldfarb and his wife, Samantha, live in Cahaba Heights with their two children, Otis and Fiona. As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors and attending live music events.
