Alex Holt is a dedicated and high-character coach who brings leadership experience and a strong collegiate playing background to the Vestavia Hills High School soccer staff. A proud VHHS alumnus and former standout at Rollins College, Alex has returned to his roots to help mentor and develop the next generation of Vestavia players with the same passion, discipline, and commitment that defined his own journey.
As a player, Alex captained Vestavia Hills High School to an area championship and earned First Team All-State, First Team 7A, and First Team All-Metro honors. He also led the VHSC Steamers to a state title, setting the standard through his composure, work ethic, and leadership on and off the field. At Rollins College, he helped the team reach the NCAA Elite 8 while being consistently recognized for academic excellence, earning spots on the SSC Commissioner Honor Roll and Rollins Athletic Director Honor Roll.
In 2022, despite suffering an injury, Alex continued to make a meaningful impact on his team, earning the Tommy Award for Best Teammate—an honor that reflects his leadership, character, and influence within the program.
Respected for his player-centered approach, understanding of team culture, and emphasis on technical development, Alex Holt continues to be a role model and mentor for Vestavia’s young athletes.
