2022-2023 Year in Review

What a year it's been for Vestavia Athletics! Twenty-three of our 26 teams qualified for postseason play (Football, Boys Cross Country, Girls Cross Country, Cheerleading, Volleyball, Boys Swimming & Diving, Girls Swimming & Diving, Boys Bowling, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Boys Wrestling, Boys Indoor track, Girls Indoor track, Girls Tennis, Boys Tennis, Boys Golf, Baseball, Girls Soccer, Boys Soccer, Boys Outdoor Track, Girls Outdoor Track) and two teams participated in the AHSAA emerging sports program which does not include "official" post season play (Girls Wrestling and Flag Football).

We crowned 5 state champions (Boys Cross Country, Boys Wrestling, Boys Tennis, Baseball, Boys Golf), had 3 7A Runners-Up (Boys Indoor Track, Boys Outdoor Track, Girls Tennis), and claimed a JV National Championship in Cheerleading! Our middle school programs combined for 5 metro titles (Pizitz Boys Bowling, Pizitz Girls Golf, Pizitz Girls Tennis, Liberty Park 7th Grade Girls Basketball, Liberty Park Boys Golf) and 3 runners-up finishes (Pizitz 8th Grade Football, Pizitz 8th Grade Boys Basketball, Pizitz Boys Tennis).

Many of our athletes won individual state titles in Track and Field, Tennis, and Wrestling and several have been selected to play in ALL-Star games this summer. Seven coaches were voted as Coach of the Year in their respective sports. Not only that, we had 6 senior athletes named National Merit Finalists!

We are so proud of our athletes and coaches for a job well done in the classroom and on the field/court in 2022-2023! Thanks to all of our sponsors and fans for helping make incredible atmospheres at all of our events!
