Lady Rebels Basketball Go South and Win 3

    The Lady Rebels Basketball team traveled to South Alabama this weekend where they played Thursday night at the home of the Theodore Bobcats. The Lady Rebels won the game 72-54. Junior Sarah Gordon led the team with 42 points and 8 rebounds for the Lady Rebels with junior Jill Gaylard adding 13 points and 6 rebounds.
    The Lady Rebels then traveled to Gulf Shores, AL to participate in the Gulf Shores Tip-Off Tournament. The Lady Rebels took on the Davidson Warriors first and won that game 49-44, after coming from behind in the 4^th quarter. Junior Sarah Gordon again led the Lady Rebels with 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Junior Grayson Hudgens chipped in 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Junior Jill Gaylard scored 9 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.
    It was a milestone night for junior Sarah Gordon as she joined recent Vestavia Hills players Emma Smith, Ally Smith, and Anna Towry in the 1000 Point Club by scoring her 1000^th career point this weekend. Congratulations Sarah!
    The final game of the trip was against the Blount Leopards in the Gulf Shores Tip-Off. The Lady Rebels won the game 62-30, never falling behind during the game. Junior Sarah Gordon again led the Lady Rebels with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Junior Jill Gaylard had 14 points and 3 steals, and sophomore Marley Cowan contributed with 10 points and grabbed 7 boards.
    The road trip was a successful one for the Lady Rebels as they won all three games. The Rebels will host Oneonta High School at Braasch-Hatchett Court on November 7^th.
